Mexe Burgers

- Preparation Time: 20 minutes - Per Serve: 520 kJ (125 cal); protein 8 g; fat 4 g; carbohydrate 14 g; sodium 570 mg*; calcium 40 mg; iron 1.4 mg; fibre 3 g; isoflavones 9 mg (est). *If salt-reduced taco seasoning mix was used, the sodium content would be 400 mg.
- Cooking Time: 5 minutes  
- Serves: makes 12

Ingredients:

Instructions:

1. Place TVP in a bowl. Add boiling water and stand for 10-15 minutes. Rinse and drain well.
2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté onion until soft. Place in a bowl, add remaining ingredients, except extra bread crumbs and oil, mix well.
3. Divide mixture into 12 equal portions, using a 1/4 cup measure, and shape into burgers.
4. Toss burgers in extra breadcrumbs.
5. Cook burgers in oil over a gentle heat until golden brown on both sides.
6. Serve in rolls with a selection of salad.
