Julie Anthony's Best Role

. . . with bonus sound clips
Family means a lot to Julie Anthony. In fact, she says, it's what she's enjoyed most in life. She has two daughters, Talitha, who works in Melbourne, and Tamara, a Year 8 student. "I've always been very family based. If it doesn't work [for the family], if anything gets in the way of that, we've never done it . . . "

A Hero Amid Genocide

Sixty years after the Nazi genocide in Hungary, in which some 450, 000 Jews were killed, the memory of a brave church minister has been honoured in an exhibition at Sydney's Jewish Museum. Clara Pongrass, the pastor's daughter, spoke to Kellie Hancock about her recollections of the time-the atrocity, the bravery and a surprising result.

A Saviour Is Born

The King of the universe gave up all of His power and honour to become a human. He left the glory of heaven to live in wood-and-stone houses and walk on dirt roads. His supernatural splendour was buried deep, so that no-one would follow Him because of it. He wanted nothing to do with looking good or being popular.

Safe for Life

With poverty a major cause of prostitution, ADRA has taken an active role in helping women at the grassroots level. The Women, Empowerment, Learning, Livelihood (WELL) project is one way ADRA is helping women in Cambodian local communities.

God Is Better Than Santa

Years have gone by since that perfect Christmas morning. I no longer believe in the man who lives up North, nor wait for him to bring me what I want most. But somehow that childish wonderment is rekindled every day as I experience my heavenly Father loving me in life, and in the lives of those who touch mine.

A No-Sunburn Summer

Last year Australian households alone spent some $A42 million on sunscreens. Why? To protect themselves from the damaging radiation of the sun. But just how good are sunblocks?

The Star

A Dollar Makes a Difference

Almost 500,000 overseas children are sponsored by New Zealanders and Australians. What are the benifits of sponsorship and are all the charities all same?

Standing True

The Bible demands a courageous response to some hard questions and while you may not be called upon to exchange your life for the Scriptures, it could well be that your eternal destiny will hang on how you regard this Word and what you do about it.

More Than Life and Death

In all ages, God has had His faithful followers-no matter the risk to their life or reputation. Such has been the experience of the covenant people of God at regular intervals throughout history.

A Different Measure of Success

Ask a group to define "success" and the answers will most likely relate to some material achievement. Yet God views things quite differently. So what is the difference between the world's formula for and definition of success and how God sees prosperity?

A Christian Christmas?

Its origins are in pagan sun-worship, so why do Christians observe this festival?

Questions of the Season

As a service to readers, Kim Peckham dedicates a column to answering questions about Christmas. As a further service, he also supplies the questions.
