Brooke Fraser: Seeing Daylight in Perspective
"I have no grand ambitions to take over the world, but by the same token, I think if I limited myself to just New Zealand and Australia or if I tried to limit what God wants to do, that would be selfish of me."
Where are all the Men?
. . . Online bonus extended Article.
Children lack access to male role models when they need them most. Males account for just over 30 per cent of all teaching personnel at the primary level. Figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) suggest things will worsen, as the number males entering the teaching profession continues to decline.
So, Where was God?
Where was God when tectonic plates shifted off Sumatra? As the tidal waves gathered speed and formed? As they crashed into the shorelines of Asia and Africa? As tens of thousands of people died? As towns and cities and livelihoods were destroyed? Couldn't God have done something?
No Limbs, No Limits
There was no medical explanation as to why this should have happened, and they had no idea it was going to, so when his devastated parents were presented with a baby with such disabilities, it tested their faith, says Nick. They loved God, and, if God loved them, why would He let something this bad happen to them? they reasoned.
The Case of the Empty Tomb
Three important pieces of evidence in support of the resurrection of Christ. If these three fundamental facts can be shown to have taken place in the way the Bible says, then a good case is made for accepting that the claimed resurrection actually occurred. The evidence demands a verdict.
The Rebuild
As a worldwide development agency, ADRA had a presence in all countries hit by the tsunami, and so was able to deliver immediate assistance and begin empowering the survivors of the Asian tsunami to restore their communities and rebuild their lives.
Living Well, Living Long
Most people are interested in their health and wellbeing. Our bodies, according to the Bible, are the “temple” of the Spirit, and we would do well to honour it. And, of course, don’t we all want to live long enough to see our children and grandchildren grow up, become better people, see the world become a better place, and live some of our dreams along the way?
Marcel's Mum and Dad
If the issue of race hasn't already surfaced in your home, it is likely that it will. And when it does, here are a few suggestions to prepare you for teaching your children godly rather than prejudiced or even bigoted responses to race differences.
The Millennium and End of Sin
This time of the year-the Easter season-most Christians focus in some way on the death and resurrection of Jesus, and the impact these two epochal events had on their own personal lives and 2000 years of history in general. But what happens after Christ comes the second time?
Using the Right Hammer
One of the most useful lifestyle hammers, over the past 2000 years, has been the Bible. Like the other hammers mentioned here, the Bible provides much useful guidance for life. Also, like the other hammers mentioned, it has sometimes been misused.
Pray for Me
Im beginning to doubt that James Bond is a real person. Here's the thing that tipped me off: He never prays. Wwouldn't those times when the villain dangles him over a pool of hungry sharks result in fervent supplications to the Almighty?
