Jackie O:
Cooking for the Planet
She’s one of Australia’s bestknown young media personalities, particularly as the voice of the nationally syndicated “Hot 30 Countdown” and Sydney breakfast radio on 2Day FM. But, a few weeks ago, Jackie O was speaking out in quite a different way—as the spokesperson for Australia’s first-ever National Vegetarian Week.
The Road to Bethlehem
As we stood in line and waited for the large gates to open, I shared their sense of excitement and expectation. Actually, I knew what was hidden behind those grand gates but wasn’t about to give anything away to my niece and nephew.
Born to Die
He was, I imagine, as soft and pretty as any newborn. His mother loved Him. She sat on an upturned bucket, a pile of hay or perhaps directly on the hard ground—the nursery was a barn, after all—and jiggled Him gently, kissed his soft, downy head and held Him to her breast when He cried.
The White Azalea
Securely strapped into his wheelchair, he held the hose with shaking hands and watched with increasing interest as it found new life. His reward was a striking display of snowy blooms.

The Carol that Stopped a War
When World War I erupted in 1914, soldiers on both sides were assured they would be home by Christmas to celebrate victory. That prediction proved false. However, on Christmas Eve December, 1914, one of the most unusual events in military history took place on the war’s Western front.
For the Love of God
How we live reveals whether or not we’ve accepted that gift of grace. Those who have accepted it will love like their Lord. Those who haven’t, won’t.
Sewing a Better Future
After finishing eighth grade, Oyunchimeg left school due to family circumstances. For the next four years she stayed at home, unable to find employment. Her small village in the Zavkhan province of Mongolia didn’t have many job opportunities— especially for a young person with no experience and an incomplete education.
When Friends Come Through
Three shops later, I had a foot valve—the only one in Perth that would fit, I was told. I was ready and determined to fix it - Wrong again!
